Products & Natural Variations
Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
Because ceramics are made from natural materials and involve multiple hands-on processes, slight variations in color, glaze, and texture are part of what gives each piece its individual character. No two pieces are exactly alike, and these variations are considered a natural part of ceramic production.
Are glaze colors consistent across batches?
Glaze colors and surface textures can vary slightly between firings. We do our best to maintain consistency, but subtle differences are inherent to the ceramic-making process.
Food Safety & Use
Are your ceramics food safe?
Yes. Our glazes are formulated to be food safe. Our pieces are suitable for use with coffee, tea, and food.
Can I use your mugs for hot beverages?
Absolutely. Our mugs are designed for everyday use with hot and cold beverages alike.
Care Instructions
Are your pieces dishwasher safe?
Dishwasher suitability may vary by product. Please refer to the individual product page for specific care instructions. When in doubt, gentle hand washing with mild detergent is recommended.
Can I use them in the microwave?
Microwave suitability may vary by product. Please refer to the individual product page for specific care instructions. Unless a piece is specifically marked as microwave safe, we recommend not using it in the microwave. Always avoid sudden temperature changes.
How should I care for my ceramics long-term?
Hand wash with mild soap, dry thoroughly, and store carefully to avoid chipping. With proper care, your piece will last for years.
Shipping & Packaging
How do you package your ceramics?
Every piece is carefully wrapped and packed with protective materials suited to fragile ceramics. We take extra care to help protect your order throughout international transit.
How long does shipping take?
Orders ship from China within 2–5 business days. Delivery takes 10–15 business days internationally, or sooner for customers in Asia. A tracking number will be sent once your order ships. Note that customs clearance may affect delivery times.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship internationally from China. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. Orders shipped to Asian countries may qualify for reduced or free shipping. Please note that international orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.
Breakage, Returns & Exchanges
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact us at support@thequietclay.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will review your case and respond within 3 business days. We may offer a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.
Can I return or exchange my order?
Due to the fragile nature of ceramics and the complexity of international returns, we’re currently unable to accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, except where required by applicable law. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos, and we’ll work with you to provide an appropriate resolution. Minor variations in glaze color, texture, brushwork, shape, or surface characteristics—such as small pinholes, bubbles, or iron spots—are natural results of ceramic production and are not considered damage or defects.

Can I send an order directly to a recipient?
